In 2021, I was approached by the fitness company, Tribe WOD, to create animation promoting their line of workout equipment. They had seen many of the MicroLoops I made, and wanted work similar in tone, but centered around the people who'd frequent a gym.

With that prompt in tow, I got to work. I dug the idea of the gym being something positive and centering for people, so I built the characters and short sample ads out of that philosophy. We made only two ads before the company was accquired by new owners, and the ads stopped after that. That animatic up top was actually released as a full ad - the other, fully animated Thor short, can be seen below.

I was really happy to try something with advertising. While this specific concept didn't reach its full potential, I can see the germs of style and content I'd use in many of my personal shorts later on. Why give the advertisers my cool ideas?!
