In late 2022, I received a great opportunity from a puppetry studio run by Brett and Ksenia Sylvia - Brett was a fellow MassArt grad, and asked if I would like to collaborate on a few projects - the main attraction being a children's book based on one of their characters: a monster made of dirty laundry.

I went through a number of variations on page concepts - going through thumbnails, color scripts, and various stages of ink and paint. Take a look at the gallery to the left for excerpts of my visual development for the book.

This was my second time illustrating a children's book, and I relished the chance to create a charmingly grimy piece in the vein of artists like Jack Davis and Mercer Meyer. This was also my very first project done entirely in Procreate, which made the illustration process so easy.
